Strange worlds

Just a short post in between to keep my blog alive.
I'll try to find time for a proper post later, but anyway at the weekend it will definitely be there!
The picture above was shot in front of the "Irrhain", a quite mystical and veeeery old labyrinth-style area in the woods.

The times I had

Finally a new post! It has been quite a long time, and here's why:
First, I went to Amsterdam with my beloved A., (I'll use shorts for my friends to keep their privacy), then was my BIRTHDAY on May 30st (I turned 21), for which I had loooots of prearrangements to do, and after that I had a few horrible workdays and quite some other stuff to handle.
But however, now I'm back with a lot of pictures to show and stories to tell you =)
I decided to quit my Berlin report as it became way too long and uninteresting- maybe I'll show you some of the photos and stuff from time to time, but not now.
I'll tell you everything about my birthday party and show you the bunch of vegan treats I made in my next post, also I will tell you about the things that kept me from updating during the last weeks.

Today I'll show you my Amsterdam photos. I chose only a small selection so the post won't be too long =)

Amsterdam has a huge amount of fetish stores- I liked this one's name and our reflections in the window.

We tried some coca leaf shots in a special liquore store, but couldn't tell if the effects were different from "normal" shots as we already were too high before we did it =D

Me in the morning, shortly after waking up- don't mind my messy hair ^

This picture and the following one were taken in Amsterdam's Sex museum- we accidentally came across it and just HAD to go in!
I photographed quite some stuff there, but these two photos were my favourites.

This was a very beautiful vegetarian restaurant with a spiritual touch, but sadly we didn't manage to eat there even once... But we found the prettiest and nicest vegan restaurant in the world on our last day and went there instead. I'd love to tell you about it, as it was our greatest experience during our stay and  the place was so lovely and familiar with us being the only guests- but you'd imagine it all wrong anyway, so I'll just keep that memory for myself =)

There was a sign over the door of the right house that said "Weltevreden" (World peace)...
So beautiful!

A. in front of our tent. As you can see we completely failed to arrange it ^^
The tent didn't get better during our stay, and on our last day almost collapsed.

A. brought some colourful lights, so the inside of our tent would be this pretty at night =)

We're both terribly messy (Picture was shot on our first day!)

As you can see, we had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam =)
Of course, we went to a lot of cofeeshops and also had many funny, crazy and sometimes scary experiences every day.
The thing we did the most was laughing- I bet we laughed about 6 hours every day, which was wonderful.
I really loved the architecture, the beautiful flats and furnitures (You can look inside every living room, as people don't have curtains in Amsterdam) and the many flowers and little trees in front of the houses.
Also, there were many lovely people to meet- but also a lot of freaks who sometimes really scared us!
And, of course, I really enjoyed spending time with my A.- She's probably the funniest person I ever got to know and we're just so alike.

Amsterdam!

Dear followers,
This will be the shortest entry since I starded my blog, and here's why: In two hours I'm leaving for Amsterdam with a friend!
I'll go on with my Berlin posts and also do a little Amsterdam-Review when I come back. I'll be home on Thursday next week =)
Te photo below is not from today, it was shot in Flo's kitchen a few weeks ago, but it shows how I feel right now as I only slept about 4 hours.
I'm so excited!
have some nice days everyone =)

Berlin, part two

Today I'm going to show you some more Berlin pictures, but first of all I want to share a vegan cheese recipe with you =)
I invented it myself, so if you want to share it on your website or anywhere else, please add a link to my blog!

VEGAN POLENTA-CHEESE

What you need:
125g very fine Polenta-semolina, Salt, 1 1/2 cups of yeast flakes, 300ml soymilk, 200ml soy cream, vegetable margarine or vegan lard, garlic powder, 3/4 teaspoon Agar agar

What to do:
Mix all condiments except from the polenta-semolina in a pot. Wait until it gets hot, then add the semolina, stir and let it cook for 5-8 minutes. Stir continuously!
After that, take the pot away from the hob and add a small amount of the vegan margarine or lard. Let it melt and stir again.
Fill the mixture into a small tin and wait until it's cold enought to put it in the refridgerator.
DONE!
Use it on your bread instead of cheese or just snack it whenever you want =)

Back to my Berlin-review!
This post is mainly about one of my favourite Bars in Kreuzberg, the "Filmkunstbar" (cinematic arts-bar). It's arrangement is very crazy and retro-ish and they play the best music from the 1970s-1990s.
Every Friday, it's crowded with people, all dancing insanely, lighting sparklers and splashing around with water guns =)
Here are some photos of it, without people, as it isn't possible to take photos there on Friday.
I know the pictures are quite dark and quite red, but that's just how the light and the atmosphere is in that bar, so I left them that way to give you a realistic insight.

Here's one more thing that's special about the Filmkunstbar:
You can rent DVDs there! They have only the best stuff: Artistic movies, philosophic movies, classics and film noir.
The DVDs are placed all over the rooms, but you can also go down some staris to get into a proper video room.

It's a pity I didn't take photos of the second bar-room- it's really cozy, with old settles and ladders that lead to funny couches right under the ceiling!

Flo fooling around at some strange thing that was standing in the middle of the sidewalk.

My Dad's kitchen lamp =)
He had the Idea to hang Barbies to use tham as decoration a long time ago, and I even started a Barbie-project with my best friend because of his idea. We already kinda slaughtered about 10 Barbies, maybe I'll post some pictures of them someday.

Flo and me

A house that I thought was quite beautiful, so i took a photo of it. I'd love to live in a house like that!

...And, last but not least, one more cool graffity I stumbled over.

Next Berlin post will be mainly about the East-Side gallery.
Have a nice evening everyone =)

Benjamin Lacombe ♥

No, I'm not done with my Berlin review, I just thought I'd do a little post in between so there won't be so many days without anything new here. As always, I'm staying at Flo's during the weekend, so I can't access my pictures before Monday.
I should tell you that I'm not able to do more than one or two posts a week anyway, as I'm always so busy and just don't have the time to post more frequently. (Maybe this will change someday, but at the moment it doesn't seem like it).

So today's short pot is about one of my very favourite illustrators: Benjamin Lacombe.
He's such a great Artist and creates the loveliest, cutest, strangest and most beautiful characters and worlds, often with a grotesque touch. I really adore his work! His book illustrations as well as his free art pieces.

Here's a small selection of pictures that I especially like, just to show you what he does and maybe get you as inspired as I always get when looking at his stuff =)

If you like these, you should definitely visit Benjamin Lacombe's website and look at his portfolio.
Also, you can click *here* to get to his latest book, L'Herbier des Fées!
I totally have to buy it, it already mesmerized me =)
